WNYC has taken NYC’s dog licensing record to create a fun map showing New York City’s most popular dog names and breeds.

While high ranking names such as Max, Bella, and Lucky seem to be popular nation wide, NYC also has some names that ring true to its’ culture such as Jeter, Dolce and Gucci.

Smaller breeds such as Yorkies, Malteses and Shih Tzus rank the highest in NYC, most likely due to smaller apartments in the area. Check it out for yourself! Is your dogs breed or name popular in The Big Apple?
