New York City Dog Lover’s Guide: Brooklyn

  1. The Brooklyn Bridge pedestrian promenade is dog friendly and just over a mile long!
  2. Prefer water? Take a NY Waterway East River Ferry instead. Pack your dog’s carrier for the ride.
  3. Brooklyn Bridge Park hosts many outdoor activities that dog’s can come to including walking tours, SyFy’s Movies with a View and Shakespeare at Sunset.

  4. Nearby Fort Green Park has off leash hours before 9am and after 9pm!
  5. Smorgasburg at Brooklyn Bridge Park Pier 5 is open Sundays from 11am-6pm. The outdoor food market has treats for you and lots of smells for your dog.
  6. Dabney Lee, 45 Washington Street, is the place to go in Dumbo for stationery, gifts and Waggo toys. Across the street, West Elm Market, 50 Washington Street has unique kitchen products and even more Waggo goodies!

  7. Wine & Puppies Monday Happy Hour is the social event of the week at Wag Club, 36 Furman St. Socialize a new pup and have a drink for only $15!
  8. The Prospect Park Dog Beach is the best spot to take your dog for a summertime dip!
  9. Bark at the Park with the Mets at Citi Fieldraises money for the North Shore Animal League.

  10. Waggo’s office pups love McCarren Park in Greenpoint. The huge park has lots of grass, two dog runs and a weekend farmers market.
  11. PS9 Pets, 169 North 9th, is our favorite spot for toys and treats in Williamsburg.
  12. Brooklyn Animal Resource Coalition (BARC), 253 Wythe Ave, is a non-for-profit no kill shelter. Sign up to volunteer and you can walk the shelter’s dogs on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays or Saturdays.
